Send your players on a series of quests for rewards and victory in Commander Party from June 20–26 and July 18–24.
Magic: The Gathering®—FINAL FANTASY™ brings a new adventure that fans of both will love. Combine this with one of the most popular Magic play formats, and you have an experience that players are sure to enjoy.
Commander Party offers players a twist on play in the Commander format. For Magic: The Gathering—FINAL FANTASY, players can gain a Hero token they use to help complete a series of quests, earn rewards, and maybe even win the game.
There are two periods available for scheduling Commander Party events during the Magic: The Gathering—FINAL FANTASY season:
You can run as many events as you like during these periods.
The Magic: The Gathering—FINAL FANTASY Commander Party event features two promos for participants. You can decide which to award during the two Commander Party event windows, June 20–26 and July 18–24. We suggest awarding one during your first event period, and the other during your second event period to encourage repeat play.
Each player should receive the card listing the ability and cost for creating a Hero creature token during play. Also, give each player a checklist sheet displaying the five quests that can be marked off when completed during play.
Place the Commander Party rewards card within view of all players; they will need a six-sided die to roll for a reward each time they complete an unfinished quest.
During their turn, a player may activate only as a sorcery the ability on their card to create a 1/1 Hero creature token if they do not already control a Hero token. Encourage them to give their Hero token a name!
At the beginning of their end step, if a player controls a Hero token, and they've completed the requirements of the next quest on their list, they may mark it as complete. When they do, they roll the six-sided die to claim the corresponding reward from the rewards card.
If a player completes the last of the five quests on their sheet, they win the game!
For Commander Party events, players are welcome to bring their own decks to play. However, there may be new or returning players who do not have their own Commander decks ready to go. This is a great opportunity to introduce them to the Magic: The Gathering—FINAL FANTASY Commander decks that are available.
These let players to get into a Commander game with minimal preparation and with decks inspired by FINAL FANTASY VI, FINAL FANTASY VII, FINAL FANTASY X, and FINAL FANTASY XIV so they can experience a familiar journey in an all-new way.
